Normally I am attracted to spaces with a bit of drama and sense of the unexpected. Illustrator Mats Gustafson’s Stockholm apartment is none of the above. It is refined and restrained and absolutely lovely. After New York firm Fernlund + Logan finished the structural overhaul, Gustafson gathered together furniture, paintings and decor he already owned to decorate the apartment. The views are amazing and showcases the famous Northern Lights.
What do you think do you like its cool masculine sensibilities or do you like a bit more madness?
It’s January and it is really heating up in Melbourne. While that might seem very strange to anyone checking in from the northern hemisphere, warm weather, eating outside and dressing in cooling summer clothing is all part and parcel of January in Australia. Everything seems to shut down, the way it does in New York or Paris in August, until Australia Day on 26th of this month.
The warm weather and long days also encourage outdoor living: eating, dining and relaxing. Here is a little inspiration for us in the warm weather and something to dream about if it’s chilly outside. It won’t be long until the tables are reversed and we will be shivering while the magazines are full of July and August summer inspiration.
